Friday: Earnie Larsen
Earnie is "A big and gentle man with an astounding ability to touch the hearts of those of us who have accepted the challenge of creating change in our lives."

Earnie Larsen is a nationally known author and lecturer.  He is a pioneer in the field of recovery from addictive and unwanted behaviors.  He
has authored more than 60 books and 40 motivational self-help tapes on a variety of topics ranging from managing interpersonal relationships to spirituality.  Earnie is widely read and listened to and often quoted in 12-Step Groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Adult Children of Alcoholics.  Earnie has been referred to as an authority in dealing with issues like co-dependency and dysfunctional behaviors.

As a lecturer, Earnie is known and sought after by Industry, Treatment Centers, Churches and many other types of organizations both nationally and internationally.  His seminars are frequently sold out, due in part to his unique simplicity and his "heart of America" folksy appeal.

Mary Ann is wife and mother of 13 ranging in age from 11 to 31 years of age.  Six of her children are adopted and of mixed race, most with special needs.  She is the director of ProLife Across America, a nation-wide educational, non-profit organization dedicated to proclaiming the pro-life message through billboard, television, and newspaper advertising. In addition, she has served in various aspects of the pro-life movement and as a volunteer counselor offering support to women with problem pregnancies. She is an advisory board member of the National Council for Adoption and previously served on the Minnesota Governor’s Task Force for children with handicaps and special needs.

May Ann has testified twice in Congress on adoption-related issues and has appeared on local and national radio and television, including Phil Donohue, PBS Debates/Debates, and Mother Angelica’s EWTN. She is the author of Parenting with Prayer and Building a Legacy of Love.

Sunday: Terry Essau
From small town punk, playing in a garage band with his Fender amp cranked to eleven - stomping on his wah-fuzz pedal, to becoming the Jingle King of Minneapolis, Terry has written and produced thousands of pieces of music for TV commercials...from Target to McDonalds, Pepsi to Perkins, Harleys to Hondas, and Golden Grahams to Billy Graham. He climbed the creative corporate ladder only to find disenchantment once there.

That’s when he got proactive. He wrote a book called Blue Collar God/White Collar God. (Thomas Nelson, 2001) He started telling stories about the one product that he knew could change people's lives - a connection with God. He knew because it changed his life.

Children's Program

We're delighted to bring workshops, enrichment, and entertainment for the whole family.  The details for the children's program is still in its planning stage.  But here's a sneak peak at what's being planned...

Tall Ships Challenge.  Children will embark on a visit to the harbor where the Tall Ships will be docking.  You'll want to bring a camera!

Planetarium.  Gaze the night sky in the comfort of Duluth's Planetarium.

Dog Sledding.  Our youngsters will get a chance to work with and learn about the art of Dog Sledding.

Hartley Park Naturalist Tour and Hike.  Kids will  have the opportunity to make their own trail mix to bring with them as they learn about the natural beauty of the Minnesota North Shore.

Twirly Sue and Crew.  An adventure through exercise.

Rest assured, children will have something to talk about and keep them busy.
